Are You Ready to do ‘More for Christ’?

Kentucky Baptist Convention messengers voted in November 2010 to begin a special emphasis in Kentucky churches to be called “More for Christ.” The purpose of “More for Christ” is to call Baptists to an intentional time of repentance, renewal, and redirection for the future so that as individuals and churches we challenge ourselves to an increased commitment to Christ and to the Great Commission.
“More for Christ” is a way of putting words to what we all need to be about as Christians – growing stronger in our faith in Him every day so that our love for Jesus consumes every aspect of our lives. John the Baptist talked about this in John 3:30 when he said about Jesus’ growing ministry: “He must increase but I must decrease.”
The emphasis comes out of a call from the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Great Commission Task Force which spent 2010 looking at ways Kentucky Baptists could be most effective in working together to fulfill the Great Commission. The task force’s very first recommendation focused on our need for a time of “repentance, renewal, and redirection for the future.”
